About
We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage outgoing shipments from our Charlotte, North Carolina facility. In this vital role within our logistics department, you will be responsible for ensuring all orders are processed accurately and dispatched efficiently. Your duties will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, tracking shipments, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety are essential as you contribute to the smooth flow of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify shipping information for accuracy to prevent errors.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Maintain organized records of all outgoing shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages to ensure they meet shipping requirements and are properly sealed.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipping status.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company logistics policies.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including packing and loading.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with basic math and computer skills.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines and the use of PPE.
- Must be able to lift moderate weight occasionally as part of duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
