About

The Role As a Shopify Developer, you'll play a crucial role in developing and customising Shopify stores to meet our clients' unique needs. You'll work independently on projects, contribute to feature development, and mentor junior developers. Your expertise will help drive the success of our e-commerce solutions.
What You’ll Do Shopify Development
Develop and customise Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
Build new features and functionalities to enhance user experience and store performance.
Integrate third‑party APIs and services to extend store capabilities.
Project Collaboration
Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver projects on time.
Participate in project planning and provide accurate time estimates for tasks.
Quality Assurance
Conduct thorough testing to ensure cross‑browser and cross‑device compatibility.
Optimise websites for speed, performance, and SEO best practices.
Mentorship
Conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality standards.
Problem‑Solving
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Implement solutions that are scalable and maintainable.
What You’ll Bring Technical Skills
Shopify Expertise: Solid experience with the Shopify platform, including theme customisation and app integration.
Advanced Web Development: Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
API Knowledge: Experience working with Shopify APIs and developing custom solutions.
Responsive Design: Ability to create responsive designs that function flawlessly across devices.
Soft Skills
Problem‑Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to tackle complex coding challenges.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication for team collaboration.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to Detail: Commitment to delivering high‑quality work with meticulous attention to detail.
Experience
Professional Experience: Minimum of 2‑3 years of experience in Shopify development.
Version Control: Proficient in using Git and collaborative workflows.
Nice To Haves Experience with Shopify's New Stack
Familiarity with Shopify Hydrogen/Oxygen for headless commerce.
Knowledge of Remix or other modern React frameworks.
Advanced Theme Development:
Proficiency with Theme App Extensions over older theme customization methods.
Experience with advanced front-end tooling (e.g., Webpack, Gulp, Rollup).
Custom App Development
Experience building public or private Shopify apps using the Shopify App Bridge.
Familiarity with external data sources/APIs and building robust sync processes.
Performance Optimisation
Deep understanding of web performance best practices (Core Web Vitals, image optimisation, critical CSS).
Experience auditing and improving PageSpeed Insights scores.
CI/CD & DevOps
Experience setting up automated theme deployments using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
Familiarity with version control best practices like Git Flow.
