Location: Bridgwater, Somerset Salary: Competitive + Benefits + Subsistence Allowance (if required) We are partnering with a leading UK contractor on a flagship industrial scheme in Bridgwater and we’re looking to appoint a Senior Design Manager . This is a high‑profile role on a £Bn project where you’ll be central to ensuring design solutions are compliant, cost‑effective, and deliverable - while managing complex stakeholder relationships across clients, consultants, and Tier 1 supply chain partners. Key Responsibilities
Ensure designs meet statutory and employer requirements, while identifying opportunities for value engineering. Highlight risks, omissions, or errors in tender / project documentation and advise on mitigation strategies. Work closely with planning and construction teams to align design with buildability and sequencing. Act as the key point of contact for stakeholders, driving collaboration and clear communication. Support governance processes and contribute to best practice in design management. About You
Professional membership (CIOB, RICS, ICE, RIBA) preferred. Experience as a Design Manager on £100m+ projects , ideally in industrial or infrastructure sectors. Strong knowledge of CDM and Building Regulations. Excellent stakeholder management and client engagement skills. Background in consultancy or Tier 1 contracting welcomed. What’s on Offer
