Join our dynamic logistics team in Columbus, Ohio, as a Material Handler! We are seeking a motivated and physically fit individual to support the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting materials, ensuring the smooth flow of operations. This role is essential for our supply chain efficiency and requires a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. You will be handling a variety of materials, contributing directly to our logistics success.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers using appropriate equipment.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Operate manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Stack and organize materials to ensure proper storage and efficient use of space.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock placement as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to all company policies regarding material handling and logistics.
- Perform tasks involving frequent Lifting and moving of heavy objects, following safe Lifting techniques.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational goals.
- Inspect equipment before use and report any damage or malfunction immediately.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage and loss.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent and heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Proficiency in operating manual pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good stamina and physical fitness.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
