About
We have an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Specialist in Detroit, Michigan. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for managing stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to maintain optimal inventory accuracy. This position is key to our overall logistics and supply chain efficiency. We are dedicated to fostering a safe and controlled environment for our inventory operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize obsolescence and ensure product freshness.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, shortages, and overages.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Ensure proper organization and storage of all inventory items within the warehouse.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe Lifting practices.
- Support logistics operations by ensuring availability of accurate stock information.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry standards related to inventory management and logistics.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of inventory.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with logistics and supply chain operations is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
