Join our team as a Shipping Clerk in sunny Orlando, Florida! This role is vital for ensuring all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying package contents, and ensuring compliance with all shipping regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills. This position plays a key part in our overall logistics and supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all packages are properly packed and labeled for shipment.
- Track shipments and provide updates to customers and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and filing systems.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with team members, carriers, and other departments.
- Assist with receiving and inventory tasks as needed.
- Identify and report any shipping discrepancies or damages.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications (MS Office).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Familiarity with common shipping carriers and regulations.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to providing excellent service and contributing to efficient logistics operations.
