Seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is crucial for the accurate and timely processing of outgoing shipments, directly impacting our Logistics efficiency. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all outgoing packages are correctly labeled and dispatched. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong administrative and communication skills. You will play a key part in ensuring our products reach their destinations smoothly and on time. A commitment to Safety in all shipping processes is vital. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Verify shipping information for accuracy.
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and proper packaging.
- Maintain shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and customer service regarding shipments.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures related to shipping operations.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of outgoing goods, considering any Lifting requirements.
- Support the overall Logistics flow by ensuring efficient and accurate shipping processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework is a plus.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of Safety regulations in a shipping environment.
- Familiarity with basic Logistics procedures.
