About
We are looking for an experienced Reach Truck Operator to join our state-of-the-art distribution center in Washington, D.C. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a reach truck to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory. You will operate within specified time frames to move products efficiently, ensuring accurate placement in racking systems. Your role is critical to maintaining organized inventory levels and supporting the overall logistics flow. This position demands a high level of precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will be required to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all established safety procedures. The role involves significant physical demands, including repeated bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy Lifting. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a dedication to maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment are essential. Your expertise will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a reach truck to move and position inventory within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and trailers.
- Retrieve and place inventory in designated racking locations.
- Perform pre-operation checks on the reach truck to ensure safety and functionality.
- Assist with inventory counts and accuracy checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Support overall logistics and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating a reach truck in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift or reach truck operator certification.
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring significant physical exertion, including Lifting.
- Proficiency in the use of PPE and commitment to workplace safety.
- Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
