We are looking for a reliable Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in sunny San Diego, California. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming inventory, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your primary responsibilities will include unloading delivery vehicles, meticulously verifying received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests, and meticulously inspecting each item for any damage or discrepancies. Accurate data entry into our inventory management system is paramount, as it forms the foundation of our inventory control. This position demands a high level of accuracy, organization, and a strong commitment to safety. You will be trained on proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure your well-being and the integrity of the products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a structured environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate records. Understanding the flow of goods within a logistics operation is key. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Accurately match received items against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming products for damage, defects, or shortages and report findings.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system promptly and accurately.
- Segregate and stage incoming goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area, adhering to all warehouse safety standards.
- Utilize appropriate equipment for material handling, ensuring safe operation.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts as required.
- Strictly follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual lifting (up to 50 lbs) and operate basic warehouse equipment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in a logistics environment.
