Position Summary
The Pastry Cook supports the pastry program at Love, Makoto by assisting in the preparation, production, and execution of desserts, baked goods, and specialty items across the restaurant's concepts. This role requires precision, creativity, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, detail-driven kitchen while upholding Love, Makoto's standards of quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and execute pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked items according to established recipes and standards
Assist with daily mise en place and service production for multiple outlets as needed
Plate desserts with consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe pastry kitchen at all times
Properly label, store, and rotate products following FIFO standards
Work collaboratively with the Pastry Chef and pastry team on prep, production, and special projects
Comply with all company policies, health codes, and safety regulations
Qualifications
Previous pastry or baking experience preferred
Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strong time-management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented mindset with a positive, professional attitude
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
