Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing inventory control procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring that all inventory data is up-to-date and accurate within our Warehouse Management System (WMS). You will collaborate with various departments, including receiving, shipping, and operations, to identify and resolve stock issues promptly. A strong understanding of inventory management principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this position. You will also be involved in identifying slow-moving or obsolete stock and recommending disposition strategies. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, while adhering to strict safety protocols, is paramount. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure optimal inventory turnover.
  • Identify and report damaged or expired goods.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of inventory management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
  • Support warehouse operations by ensuring product availability and accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Must be comfortable with lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
  • Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper handling of materials.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
