Job Overview Tesla is seeking an experienced applied Machine Learning Engineer to develop models that enhance autonomous driving capabilities across current and future vehicle models. You will work in a dynamic team with access to extensive training resources, and your work will directly impact millions of Tesla customers.

Responsibilities

Develop novel techniques for managing start and end of trip behaviors in Robotaxi services.

Utilize extensive driving data to build scalable, robust end-to-end learning systems for self-driving.

Apply advanced techniques such as generative modeling, imitation learning, and reinforcement learning to improve planning and reasoning.

Collaborate across teams on data generation, model training, and deployment.

Experiment with data collection methods to improve training datasets.

Integrate models with vehicle firmware and ensure safe, production-quality software deployment.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Python and major deep learning frameworks, with strong software engineering skills.

Deep understanding of modern deep learning architectures and optimization techniques.

Experience deploying ML models for self-driving or robotics at scale.

C++ experience is a plus for vehicle firmware integration.
