Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Male Personal Support Worker to provide high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will support clients in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being within home and community settings. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with personal care, medication management, and daily living activities. Please note that we are looking for someone who can accompany client from Toronto to Parry Sound for short term live-in, a few weeks at a time.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide patient observation to monitor health status and report any concerns promptly
  • Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
  • Mobility assistance and maintaining safety of client during ambulation
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and personal hygiene assistance
  • Document patient progress, vital signs, and observations accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
  • Support clients during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence
  • Follow care plans designed by healthcare professionals, ensuring personalized support for each individual
  • Light housekeeping, meal preparation and cooking.

Skills

  • Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care environments
  • Knowledge of patient observation, vital signs monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care
  • Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance preferred
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with transfers or mobility support
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Compassionate nature with excellent caregiving skills and patience for working with vulnerable populations
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining confidentiality and respecting client dignity
