What you'll do:
The successful candidate is responsible for delivering products and/or supplies to customers, vendors, jobsites, or other locations as assigned. Duties include, operating freight handling equipment, maintenance and operation of company vehicles, verification of administrative paperwork, and working with the public. The Home Centre Driver will be responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle and its features while delivering product to customers. Core duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare truck & trailer for loading of product to be delivered.
- Verify load security and order accuracy.
- Conduct daily pre-and post-trip inspections, completing all National Safety Code activities as required.
- Deliver materials to identified locations, providing outstanding service to delivery customers.
- Build positive relationships with the yard, sales desk, and leadership teams.
- Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and safety activities are completed.
- Perform work with a high standard of safety in all areas of operations, ensuring compliance with procedures, policies, and regulations.
- Perform minor mechanical work on trucks, semi-trailers when required.
- Perform truck and trailer inspections and report on condition of equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of truck and trailer units in accordance with brand standards.
- When not delivering, fill orders, receive freight, assist with yard maintenance and perform inventory counts as assigned.
- Complete required paperwork based on department standards.
- As required, work in the yard and in the store assisting helping customers; this includes customer carry out service and product assembly as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Who you are:
You're looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:
- You have excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
- You have the ability to operate heavy duty equipment while ensuring safety rules and regulations are followed; familiarity with National Safety Code would be considered an asset.
- You are familiar with computers and/or electronic log systems.
- You have a valid class 1A driver's license, a clean abstract will be required and you must be willing to obtain forklift certification.
- Have 6 months of Class 1A semi-truck driving experience.
- You can fulfill physical job requirements – manual labour and occasional heavy lifting is required.
- You are well organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with a minimum amount of supervision.
- You are able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
- You're honest and trustworthy, are results-orientated, and strive to be the best in what you do
