About the role:
Advanced Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full-time day/swing shift  Veterinary Technician to join the ER team.
Duties and responsibilities you may own in this role:
  • Triage and prioritize incoming patients
  • Stabilize patients in critical condition
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures
  • Administer medications and fluids
  • Provide wound care and post-surgical support
  • Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities
  • Assist during surgeries and emergency procedures
  • Communicate with pet owners
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitization
  • Educate pet owners on aftercare
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team
  • Stay updated through continuing education
  • Offer compassion and emotional support to patients and owners.
Compensation range $28.00 - $35.00 hourly plus $2/hr differentials for any hours worked between 6pm-6am.
$1,000 sign-on bonus for new full-time ER employees!
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years of clinical experience  in the veterinary industry required, ER experience preferred
  • Current and valid RVT license in the state of CA is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
  • Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
  • Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or
