Full-time Early Career Data Engineer
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time early career data engineer. In this role, you will perform analysis and data trending for aircraft systems. Create algorithms to find patterns in historical part removals and project impending part failures. Conduct root cause investigations and support corrective action planning to enhance system reliability. Evaluate conceptual and advanced designs for reliability performance and recommend improvements to optimize design efficiency. Analyze supplier repair data and aircraft field data to calculate, track, and present aircraft performance metrics. Create clear, compelling data visualizations to communicate trends and support engineering decisions. Identify and recommend process improvements that increase team effectiveness and streamline analysis workflows. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer engineering or aeronautical engineering. Coursework in Python, time series data, machine learning, deep learning, data correlation and verification, and interpretable artificial intelligence. Experience in manipulation/analysis of data in spreadsheets (MS Excel formulas, pivot tables, and/or VBA). Experience in formal presentation development, PowerPoint construct and delivery, and working in a team environment. Desired skills include a strong math background, with emphasis on statistical data analysis. Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy and quick delivery. Ability to apply statistical methods to analyze time series data including design of experiments, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. Ability to develop and implement statistical models to predict outcomes of time series data. Experience using Python. Experience with artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML). Experience in using databases and/or visualizations (MS Access, HANA, Tableau, or SQL/Oracle). This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. The clearance level is secret. Other important information includes the ability to work part-time remotely and a 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week schedule for this position.
