A leading logistics provider in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and the efficiency of our supply chain. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all incoming shipments. This includes verifying goods against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and ensuring all items are correctly logged into our system. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety are essential qualities for success in this position. You will be working closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming merchandise against shipping documents.
- Inspect all incoming goods for any signs of damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system.
- Stage received items for inventory placement or direct distribution.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving dock area, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding receiving issues.
- Properly use and maintain required PPE at all times.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in receiving or inventory control is beneficial.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with WMS.
- Ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Understanding of logistics operations and warehouse safety protocols.
- Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
