We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our dynamic team in Portland, Oregon. In this essential role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our warehouse equipment and systems. Your duties will include performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues, and conducting regular safety inspections on machinery such as forklifts, conveyor belts, and automated sorting systems. A strong understanding of industrial mechanics, electronics, and hydraulics is crucial for success in this position. You will work collaboratively with the operations team to minimize downtime and maintain peak efficiency within our logistics hub. Safety is our utmost priority, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system failures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of all equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and repair histories.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Operate various warehouse equipment safely as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized tool crib and maintenance area.
- Properly utilize all required PPE during the performance of duties.
- Support warehouse staff with basic troubleshooting and equipment operation best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of logistics operations and common warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
