Certified Surgical Technologist, Neuro Brain & Spine OR, Days
*Full time; 6:30am-7pm, days varied
*Call required
*CST and BLS (American Heart Assoc) required
*2+years of Neuro/Spine experience preferred
This position is located at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center (Sarofim Pavilion). The Surgical Technologist - Neurosurgery & Spine Specialist is a highly skilled and experienced member of the surgical team responsible for providing technical assistance to surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. This position requires specialized knowledge and expertise in neurosurgical and spinal procedures, including instrumentation, equipment, and surgical techniques. The ideal candidate will be proficient in anticipating the needs of the surgeon, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process. While specializing in Neurosurgery and Spine, the Surgical Technologist will also be expected to support other surgical service lines as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Position is responsible for providing expert perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. Position functions as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory; uses knowledge/expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff. Position must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served as well as knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles. Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program

Licenses/Certifications: Certified in Basic Life Support current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
