Korean culinary experience is a must.
We're seeking a chef who is both hands-on and creative—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves developing dishes that balance Korean flavors with New York edge.
You'll work closely with ownership to maintain high culinary and food safety standards, ensure smooth service, and innovate on seasonal menu items, tapas-style plates, and specials.
Responsibilities
Kitchen Leadership & Daily Operations
Lead and oversee kitchen line during service
Maintain high food quality, presentation standards, and consistency
Manage prep schedules, product rotation, and inventory levels
Uphold DOH sanitation standards and ensure A-level compliance
Train, coach, and support BOH team members
Menu Development & Creativity
Contribute to menu ideation and development (Korean-fusion tapas, bar snacks, brunch concepts, seasonal dishes)
Assist with plating guides, portion specs, and recipe documentation
Create specials that highlight creativity while fitting the brand
Cost & Quality Management
Manage food costs and waste control
Work with ownership on ordering, vendor relationships, and pricing
Maintain equipment and communicate repair needs
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or Chef in fast-paced NYC restaurants (Korean culinary experience is a must)
Strong knife skills, speed, organization, and calm under pressure
Knowledge of Korean flavors, sauces, and techniques
Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
Flexibility for nights, weekends, and peak service periods
DOH Food Protection Certificate required (or willingness to obtain immediately)
