Job Opportunity: Sous Chef

We are seeking a Seasonal Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team for the upcoming summer season. This individual will have strong fine-dining experience and the ability to thrive in a high-caliber, high-volume kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and ensure seamless service execution
  • Oversee food preparation, production, and presentation to maintain consistent quality
  • Lead, train, and supervise cooks and stewards, fostering a positive and efficient team culture
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with state health and sanitation regulations, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Assist with seasonal menu development and recipe testing to drive innovation and excellence
  • Manage inventory, receiving, and product rotation to optimize resource allocation and minimize waste
  • Uphold food and labor cost targets, promoting fiscal responsibility and accountability
  • Work the line during service and support all stations, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to excellence

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar position in fine dining or luxury hospitality
  • Strong culinary technique and station proficiency, with a focus on precision and attention to detail
  • Valid food handling certification, ensuring a commitment to food safety and quality
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, maintaining composure and a positive attitude in fast-paced environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods, demonstrating physical stamina and resilience
