Assisi Veterinary Hospital, located in Malverne, NY is a state of the art veterinary facility specializing in all facets of animal care. We offer a range of services from boarding and grooming to routine wellness and specialized surgery. We are seeking candidates who are personable with strong leadership skills, a good work ethic, and have the ablity to multi-task. This role focuses on assisting the veterinarian with appointments, treating hospitalized patients and overseeing the technician assistant staff in the overall care of our patients.
*Responsibilities and Duties*
* Oversee technician assistant responsibilties
* Assist in appointments (Obtain vitals, weight and history) and administer treatments
* Assisting with the management and ordering of medications and hospital supply inventory
* Experienced in venipuncture, catheter placement, taking sterile urine samples, digital radiology and anesthesia monitoring
* Must be able to perform dental procedures or demonstrate a willingness to learn
* Ability to prepare surgical cases and assist with patient recovery in a compassionate manner
* Experience in lab work and pharmacy
* Proficient in administering treatments to multiple patients
* Able to properly maintain surgical, laboratory and autoclave machines in accordance with hospital procedure
*Qualifications and Skills*
* Must be licensed
* Computer savvy, knowledge of Infinity/Impromed a plus
* Detail oriented, able to take and input detailed notes into patient records
* Flexible with schedule, able to work days and/or nights, weekends and holidays as needed
