Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, ensuring their proper functionality and safety.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Check haul trucks, bulldozers, graders and other heavy mining equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Operate computer-based software for troubleshooting
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Acknowledge and adhere to all safety standards as outlined by ATI Canada and the client
- Complete paperwork, reports, and inspections accurately, keep them current and organized
- Maintain positive interactions with co-workers, clients, supervisors, treating everyone with respect
- Adhere to ATI Canada accommodations policies.
- Complete and submit daily timesheets in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintain ATI Canada provided tooling in good condition.
- Record daily vehicle mileage logs and pre-trip inspections for all equipment
- Maintain a high level of respect and cleanliness for service and Company trucks
- Operate company vehicles in strict accordance with traffic/site rules and weather conditions
- Assist management in challenging and improving the health and safety program to meet the ever-changing needs of the work site.
- Shall participate in the company's safety program, understanding that safety is everyone's role and is a part of their everyday duties.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off-Road) Certification is require
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a HD Field Mechanic position
- Mining background is highly preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience is an asset
- Class 5 driver's license / clean driver's abstract needed
- Possesses excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities able to develop solutions quickly
- Ability to operate computer-based maintenance troubleshooting software such as: CAT E.T., CAT SIS, Cummins Insite, Service Advisor, etc.
Open-Pit Mining Experience on some of the Following
- Shovels: Komatsu / CAT / P&H / Bucyrus / Hitachi
- Haul trucks : Cat And Komatsu 830E - 930E
- Dozers: Cat D6-D11 and Komatsu
- Graders: Cat 16M - 24M
Employment Package
- $67/hr (base wage + some premiums may apply) + 4% Vacation Pay
- Attractive 14/14 work schedule (Overtime Available); rotating day/night shift
- 12-hour shifts per day
- Hours Worked Averaging Arrangement (HWAA) applies
- Time and a half paid for overtime worked after the HWAA hours have been reached
- Camp or crew house accommodations provided
- Flights / transportation to / from nearest major home base airport
