Briefly describe the job's primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
List the job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects for the job whether performed daily weekly, monthly, or annually and any that occur at irregular intervals.
Communicate regularly with dealers in the region to provide support, obtain an understanding of their business, train and provide suggestions with the goal of increasing sales. Communicate regularly with the manufacturing facility to obtain product updates, provide field feedback etc. Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner. Develop territory by establishing dealers in open areas; replacing dealers where needed; providing training/support to dealers where needed. Train dealers on product knowledge, features/benefits, competitive analysis, salesmanship, and any other information that will help with sales. Assist with dealer promotions providing ideas, tools, and manpower when applicable. Gain full knowledge of dealer operations including flooring company, amount, and availability; current dealer inventory; production allocations and related information. Work within budgeted guidelines. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
At least five years sales experience preferably in the marine industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Technical Ability:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, most notably; Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Familiarity with web and social media site navigation.
