Scotland (Hybrid or Remote Working) Salary:
£50,000 - Up to £80,000 + benefits (depending upon experience).
Turner Lovell is recruiting for a
Senior Civil Design Engineer
to join a rapidly growing engineering design consultant and grid connection contractor expanding across Scotland. Our client delivers design and build grid connection (BESS, Windfarm), substation and cable projects for DNOs and developers across the UK.
As
Senior Civil Design Engineer / Civil Design Engineer , you will lead civil designs for these medium and high voltage transmission infrastructure. You will be taking projects from concept through detailed design, and providing construction support to ensure safe, buildable solutions.

with a civil, structural or mixed background.
Key Responsibilities Deliver civil design for
substations (11-132kV), grid connections, OHL interfaces and underground cable routes. Develop drawings, calculations and specifications for: Foundations for transformers, switchgear and structures Control buildings, steel frame enclosures Transformer bunds, retaining structures and plinths Cable trenches, ducts, joint bays and culverts Access roads, drainage, and earthworks Work closely with electrical, structural and other internal teams to integrate designs. Support
design and build
delivery by liaising with construction teams, responding to RFIs and closing out design queries. Manage design risks and ensure compliance with safety, quality and technical standards. Attend the Glasgow office and project sites as needed for design reviews and coordination. Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers. Ideal Background & Skills Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Minimum
2+ years experience
in power, utilities, substations, grid connections or similar infrastructure. Experience in civil design for substation compounds, cable routes, foundations, drainage and access infrastructure. Good understanding of project lifecycles and the interface between design and construction. Proficient with AutoCAD and MS Office. Civil 3D / Revit / Navisworks experience is beneficial. Strong communication and teamworking skills. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in
