Partnering with Organisations to Scale Digital, Data & Tech Teams Business Analyst – National NHS Data & API Experience
Location:
Hybrid – 1 day per month onsite in Leeds

Overview We’re looking for an experienced
Business Analyst
to join a large-scale
NHS digital programme
focused on
data integration and API-driven transformation . You’ll be working with cross-functional teams including data engineers, developers, and product managers to shape and deliver solutions that improve interoperability, insights, and outcomes across the healthcare ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
NHS projects , an understanding of
data flows and standards , and experience working on
API-led platforms
within complex public sector environments.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
Lead business analysis activities across API and data integration projects.
Gather, refine, and document requirements from clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders.
Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and user stories.
Map existing and future-state data flows, identifying dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
Support end-to-end delivery — from discovery and design through to testing and assurance.
Ensure all outputs align with NHS data governance and interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, etc.).
Act as the bridge between business users, suppliers, and engineering teams.
Proven
Business Analysis
experience on NHS or wider
public sector
digital projects.
Strong understanding of
data-driven systems , APIs, and integration projects.
Experience producing documentation such as process maps, data models, and user stories.
Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with
Agile delivery
and digital transformation principles.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with
FHIR / HL7
or other NHS interoperability standards.
Understanding of
cloud environments
(AWS / Azure).
Experience working alongside data engineering or analytics teams.
Knowledge of NHS assurance, IG, and programme governance frameworks.
