Production Manager

In this role, you will lead and develop a high-performing production organization at FlackTek Manufacturing Inc., ensuring the safe, efficient, and predictable manufacture of industry-leading equipment. You will be responsible for building the systems, processes, accountability, and team capability required to consistently deliver quality products on time and at scale. Success in this position requires proven experience leading people, managing production operations, driving continuous improvement, and achieving measurable business results in a manufacturing environment. This is a production leadership role focused on developing people, managing resources, and improving operational systems rather than personally building machines. You will work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations leadership to support FlackTek's continued growth and operational excellence.

This role reports to the: Site Director

Primary Outcomes
  • Schedule Adherence Complete work orders on time and as planned for new machine builds = 95%
  • First-Pass Yield (FPY) Machines built correctly the first time with minimal rework = 95% FPY and = 2% rework hours
  • Team Utilization & Development Maintain staffing balance, productivity, and coaching cadence = 70% team utilization and 100% monthly 1:1 completion
  • Safety Performance Zero preventable recordable incidents and completion of all required safety actions within established timelines
  • Daily Visual Management Daily team huddles completed and SQDC boards maintained and updated 100% of scheduled workdays
  • Inventory & Material Accuracy Inventory transaction accuracy = 98% and material traceability maintained across all production activities
  • Scrap & Cost Control Material scrap = 1% and departmental spending maintained within approved budget
Core Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, leads, and assembly technicians
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards across the production team
  • Conduct regular team member 1:1 meetings, coaching, performance reviews, and development planning in partnership with HR
  • Manage staffing, workforce planning, and resource allocation to meet production demands
  • Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with customer and business priorities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Implement and sustain standard work, visual management, and manufacturing best practices
  • Monitor and improve SQDC performance through daily management systems and team huddles
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and proactively address workplace hazards
  • Oversee inventory control, material flow, and product traceability throughout production
  • Partner with Engineering to implement ECOs, ECRs, and manufacturing improvements
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to resolve material shortages and production constraints
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality and production issues
  • Ensure proper documentation, inspections, testing, and quality records are maintained
  • Support ERP system implementation, optimization, and process discipline across operations
  • Develop future leaders and strengthen organizational capability within the production team
  • Prepare and communicate production metrics, forecasts, and performance updates daily, weekly and monthly as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive production, manufacturing, or operations leadership experience within a discrete manufacturing environment. Minimum 3 years of direct people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and accountability. Demonstrated responsibility for production performance metrics including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, labor utilization, or cost control. Experience managing production systems, staffing, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives. Successful candidates must demonstrate prior experience coaching employees, holding team members accountable, addressing performance issues, and building high-performing teams.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and production planning processes. Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical assembly operations. Experience utilizing quality management systems and structured problem-solving methodologies. Strong communication, planning, organizational, and decision-making skills. Ability to analyze operational data and translate insights into actions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience with ERP platforms. Experience managing NCR, CAPA, ECO, and ECR processes. Experience or familiarity supporting ISO-certified manufacturing environments. Experience implementing MRP systems and end-to-end material traceability processes. Experience leading Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement programs. Experience scaling manufacturing operations within a growing organization.
  • Skills: Familiarity with precision manufacturing and electromechanical assembly environments. Strong understanding of production metrics, reporting systems, and operational analytics. Experience leading cross-functional process improvement or automation initiatives. Effective change management and organizational development skills. Lean Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement certification preferred.

Work Location, Schedule, & Travel
  • Role Type: Full Time - Exempt
  • Location: Onsite, in person in Louisville, CO
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm
  • Travel: Up to 10% (domestic)
Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: Annual Base Salary Range: $80k - $110k
