The Production Manager will be the on-site leader for the production operation. Responsible for the overall management of the Laundry Operations Department. Responsible for successfully coordinating and supporting all activities of the department including financial responsibility. Works with all levels of the facility staff in all matters relating to the cleanliness of the facility. Ensures that all production is completed in a safe and highly effective manner, ensuring the delivery of linen that meets or exceeds client expectations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Develops and recommends methodologies that ensure that department operates within budget. Evaluates and justifies supply and labor usage as needed to meet budgetary metrics.
- Provides completed reports as required to document operational and financial performance.
- Demonstrates quality leadership in meeting performance plans. Pursues excellence in the arena of safety.
- Acts as a positive role model; proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives. Participate and add value to committees, meetings, activities.
- Partner in leadership and oversight of production activities with chief engineer. Maintains an environment that is safe through cleanliness and in an orderly condition.
- Understands and develops total quality management process through rounding the facility. Demonstrates understanding and competency in interviewing candidates for openings.
- Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy.
- Demonstrates and promotes United Hospitality's culture, values and management philosophy.
- Coaching management and hourly employees.
- Encourages and nurtures associate creativity and innovation.
- Develop and maintain performance appraisals for staff on a timely and accurate basis. Encourage staff to participate in additional training, education, and/or self-development.
- Must have some kind of laundry experience
- Provides high level of communication, keeping all managers/directors informed of activities, needs or concerns.
- Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the Laundry/hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of customers. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the laundry's facilities. Employees who violate laundry rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
