Senior Java Backend Developer We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and resilient backend services using Java and modern architectural patterns. This role requires deep expertise in building microservices, managing data streams with Kafka, utilizing reactive programming principles, and optimizing database interactions. As a senior member, you will contribute to technical architecture decisions, ensure code quality, and mentor junior team members. Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Lead the design and development of robust and scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs using Core Java and the Spring Boot framework. Microservices Architecture: Build and maintain a resilient microservices architecture, ensuring seamless communication and integration between services. Data Streaming and Messaging: Implement and optimize data processing and messaging solutions using Apache Kafka for reliable and high-throughput data exchange. Database Management: Design, implement, and optimize database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL and other relational/NoSQL databases, leveraging ORM tools like Hibernate/JPA. Performance and Scalability: Optimize application performance, identify and correct bottlenecks, and ensure the high availability and responsiveness of applications in production environments. Code Quality and Standards: Conduct regular code reviews, provide constructive feedback to team members, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices, including writing unit and integration tests. Collaboration and Mentorship: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (frontend, QA, DevOps, product managers) to define, design, and ship new features, while also mentoring junior developers. Documentation and SDLC: Participate in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile methodologies and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: 8 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development. Core Java: Deep knowledge of Core Java concepts, including object-oriented programming (OOP), data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and exception handling. Frameworks: Proven expertise with the Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot and Spring WebFlux (reactive stack). Microservices: Extensive experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs and developing microservices architectures. Messaging: Hands-on experience with message brokers/queues, especially Apache Kafka (topics, partitions, consumer groups). Reactive Programming: Familiarity with reactive programming principles and patterns, such as Project Reactor or RxJava. Databases: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, including query optimization and schema design. DevOps & Cloud: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment.
