Lead Simulation Software Architect Boeing – Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Location: El Segundo, CA – 100% onsite Overview Join our Simulation and Testbeds Team to build software and hardware‑based satellite simulators and emulators for U.S. Government and commercial customers, working in a rapid development environment with modern technologies and an agile, CI/CD methodology. Responsibilities Lead and actively contribute to the development of requirements, architectures, and simulation models for various satellite subsystems. Plan and execute software development tasks across the full lifecycle – requirements, design, coding, integration, testing, and deployment – in accordance with product specifications. Work independently and collaboratively to complete trade studies, detailed designs, and verification and validation activities. Deliver innovative, high‑impact solutions to complex technical challenges. Provide critical technical support and independent review of teammates’ work products. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher. 3+ years’ experience with systems and software architectures. 5+ years’ experience programming in C/C++. Experience communicating complex technical risks, translating impact, and advising senior leaders. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related work experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 13+ years of directly related work experience. 17+ years of related, relevant experience. Experience with simulation products, including Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS) and open‑source solutions. Experience with infrastructure tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines). Familiarity with Agile or SAFe practices, including daily standup, User Stories, Sprints, and Program Increment Planning. Conflict of Interest Successful candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process. Work Location Position is 100% onsite in the specified location options. Benefits & Compensation Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Pay range: USD $171,700 – $232,300. 401(k) with dollar‑for‑dollar match up to 10% of eligible pay and immediate 100% vesting. Student Loan Match program.
