We’re looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team as a part-time contractor. As an SDR, you’ll be responsible for identifying and reaching out to prospective customers, starting conversations, and setting qualified meetings for our leadership team. The ideal candidates must: Have strong writing and communication skills. At least 2 years of experience working as an SDR or AE at a startup (bonus point if it’s an infrastructure software startup) Must be able to provide strong referrals from a previous employer or client Must be able to speak to a previous track record with concrete results and numbers Experience doing account-based marketing (ABM), crafting personalized outreach and targeting multiple entry points within an individual account What you want
You want to be one of the first SDRs at ParadeDB and shape our sales motion from the ground up. You want to work directly with the CEO and founding team. You want a flexible, part-time contractor role to build sales experience while maintaining a diverse client roster. You want to join a product-led, engineering-first company that’s solving real problems for world-class customers. What you've done
You’ve previously worked as an SDR or AE for a startup. You’ve successfully generated pipeline from cold outbound by writing personalized outreach. You have strong written communication skills — you can craft clear, concise, and compelling outreach messages. You are comfortable with outbound prospecting (email, LinkedIn, cold outreach). You are curious and coachable — willing to test new approaches and iterate quickly. You are organized and reliable — able to manage a pipeline of prospects and follow-ups. You have an interest in databases, developer tools, or technical products is a plus, but not required. What You’ll Do
Research and identify ideal prospects across industries where Postgres and/or Elasticsearch is already strong. Create a list of target accounts and develop a strategy for approaching them effectively. Send outbound emails and LinkedIn messages that spark interest and book discovery calls. Experiment with outbound campaigns, messaging, and tools to improve conversion rates. Build a repeatable outreach process as our first dedicated SDR hires. What's next
