CGS is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Developer to join our team supporting a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform focused on providing data solutions for federal customers. The role involves migrating the current Oracle database to PostgreSQL on Microsoft Azure, proactively managing database environments, and ensuring scalability and high performance.
Responsibilities
Lead migration from Oracle to Microsoft Azure PostgreSQL, use Ora2Pg tool for schemas, packages, views, and triggers.
Plan, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL backup and disaster recovery processes.
Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance and resource allocation.
Maintain technical documentation using defined templates and provide recommendations for effective solutions.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate high‑level objectives into technical requirements.
Perform patching, upgrades, and rollouts to ensure secure services with minimal downtime.
Work within a structured Agile development approach.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Must be U.S. Citizenship.
7+ years of administering PostgreSQL databases in Linux environments.
Experience setting up, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL instances.
Experience implementing PostgreSQL backup and disaster recovery.
Experience migrating Oracle schema and objects to PostgreSQL using Ora2Pg.
Experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL and cloud environments such as Azure.
Experience with data warehouses and Oracle databases.
Prior federal consulting experience is a plus.

Salary: $106,773.33 – $144,906.66 per year.
