Job Posting End Date: June 23 Territory Sales Trainer Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company (Colonial Life) is seeking a dedicated Territory Sales Trainer to support and develop new 1099 sales managers and representatives throughout their specified territory. Responsibilities Lead the onboarding of new 1099 sales managers and reps through demonstrations, coaching, role‑play, and consultative selling skill development. Drive and track territory prospecting activity, conduct joint field work, host weekly call clinics, and design incentive programs to drive prospecting. Support the unit‑manager (ADM) development by setting weekly activity expectations and conducting one‑on‑one coaching sessions. Train and demonstrate usage of the lead‑management system, ensuring agents track leads through the sales cycle and use data outputs to hit goals. Complete certification of new managers in district development. Lead virtual and face‑to‑face classroom instruction using approved content, drive engagement through role‑play and discussion. Provide timely, meaningful feedback to classroom participants. Deliver ongoing territory training via weekly Monday Morning Meetings, Lunch & Learns, and manager meetings. Administer classroom training using the company training system (class set‑up, rosters, completions, transcripts). Serve as a Public Sector specialist for the territory, supporting broker rep development and product rollouts. Coordinate territory participation in quarterly national prospecting and recruiting events. Act as liaison between field sales reps/managers and the Home Office, supporting recruiting initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Prior experience in training and development and motivation to help others reach goals. Previous management experience or proven ability to coach and mentor managers. Experience in sales and ability to close a case and coach through the entire sales process. Licensed to solicit insurance or ability to obtain a license in the assigned territory within 45 days. Willingness to lead prospecting activity through call clinics and B2B drops. Demonstrated leadership skills to execute company programs with minimal supervision. Strong organization and time‑management skills. Willingness to work outside the office up to 75% of the time (overnight travel as required by territory). Team player with strong interpersonal, conflict‑resolution, presentation, and communication skills. Maintains a positive corporate image and professionalism while representing Colonial Life. Preferred Qualifications College degree or equivalent experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to coach on other technology platforms. Prior experience in adult education and development. Experience in the voluntary benefits industry and with Colonial Life’s prospecting and selling system. Experience working as or with 1099 independent contractors. Compensation & Benefits Fully and partially leveraged roles are paid pursuant to a uniformly applied sales compensation plan. For partially leveraged roles, a starting salary or salary range will be listed in the job description. If salary information is not listed, compensation is based solely on commissions. Benefits include healthcare (health, vision, dental), short‑ and long‑term disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% plus an additional 4.5% contribution regardless of employee contribution.
