School Health Coordinator 2026-2027(Pending Budget Approval) JOB GOAL To direct and coordinate the Coordinated School Health (CSH) program across the district to improve student health and capacity to learn, adhering to state policies and effectively engaging families, communities, and schools. QUALIFICATIONS Holds, at a minimum, a bachelor's degree in the fields of education, nursing, health services administration, social services, psychology or mental health services, or nutrition, or has documented experience in either supervising or implementing health programs to strictly comply with TN State Board Policy 4.204; has strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills; and meets health and physical requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilitates and coordinates the implementation of the eight interactive components of the Coordinated School Health program as mandated by TN State Board Policy 4.204. Serves as an active member of the district leadership team. Establishes a School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) to guide and support the district's health and wellness initiatives. Establishes a healthy school team at each school that is representative of all eight components of the CSH program to assess needs and oversee localized efforts. Ensures that results from the school health plan are incorporated into all school improvement plans. Develops and maintains a systematic process for assessing and identifying the health and wellness needs of students, families, and staff (utilizing tools such as the Youth Risk Behavior Survey or School Climate Survey). Organizes activities and collaborates with community healthcare professionals to ensure early intervention, access, and proper referral to primary healthcare services. Solicits family involvement and engages community resources, expertise, and services to respond effectively to the health-related needs of students and families. Observes students to detect signs of ill health or emotional disturbance and reports, as appropriate. Reports to the principal any reasonable suspicion that a student's health or welfare has been or appears to have been harmed as a result of abuse or neglect. Represents the school and the community in a positive manner. Attends work regularly and on time. This job requires on-site attendance, including face-to-face interaction at the school or worksite, and coordination with other employees and students. The work also includes immediate access to documents or information located only in the workplace. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. Complies with board policies, school rules, and administrative regulations. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS This job may require lifting or carrying of objects that exceed fifty (50) pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: pushing and/or pulling, stooping and/or kneeling, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing. WORK CONDITIONS Normal working environment.
