Location: Ireland Salary: €55,000+ DOE (Depending on Experience) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role An established building services consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team.
The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.
The successful candidate will have full working rights in Ireland, and have a MINIMUM of 3 years experience in building services design (manufacturing, automotive, oil & gas and R&D are not relevent here).
This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, develop client relationships, and progress within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water, and drainage.
Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and design drawings.
Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary project teams.
Attend client, design, and site meetings as required.
Support project delivery through all design stages.
Undertake site inspections and monitor installation compliance.
Ensure designs meet relevant regulations, standards, and sustainability objectives.
Assist with technical problem-solving and value engineering exercises.
Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3+ years' experience in building services/mechanical design engineering.
Experience using industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of mechanical building services design principles.
Knowledge of current Irish and/or UK building regulations and standards.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage workload across multiple projects.
