Burlingame Family Pet Hospital is growing, and we are excited to welcome an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to our team! We are currently seeking an RVT for a part-time, surgery-focused role supporting our General Practice service on Mondays and Tuesdays. This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys anesthesia, surgical support, and dentistry and is looking to be part of a collaborative, patient-focused team.
Our ideal candidate is an RVT with a growth mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to provide exceptional patient care. Responsibilities will primarily include surgical and dental support, anesthetic induction and monitoring, treatment support, and assisting with patient recovery and client communication as needed.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position consisting of two 8-hour shifts per week on Mondays and Tuesdays. There will also be opportunities to grow into a full-time position in the future as the hospital continues to expand.
Full-time benefits and compensation**:
  • Compensation: $35-40 per hour, for each hour worked*
  • Shift differential: Additional $2/hr on weekends and weekdays after 7pm
  • Bonus package: $2000
  • CE allowance: up to $1,000 annually based on tenure

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
  • 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
  • Current Registered Veterinary Technician License in the state of California
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Venipuncture and cystocentesis
    • Placing IV catheters and administering injections
    • Anesthetic induction and monitoring
    • Dental prophy, charting and radiographs

We're equipped to perform soft-tissue surgery, general wellness, urgent care, dentistry, orthopedics, and more out of our state-of-the-art surgical suite. Our 6 full-time doctors are well-equipped with digital radiology, in-house diagnostics, all computerized records (Evet/Pulse), and most of all, a talented and committed support staff team.
We are conveniently located near BART, CalTrain, and bus routes, offering easy access for employees who commute by public transportation.
