Seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor!

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $26 - $35/hr based on experience.

VCA Old Town is seeking a full time Veterinary Technician to join and lead our technical team at our busy AAHA accredited 7- doctor practice in Alexandria, VA! You have worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) and we want you to use the knowledge that you have invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

• Physical examinations and patient assessment
• Anesthesia monitoring

In the supervisor role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:  

• Directing work flow on the floor
• Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
• Help with the interview process for potential new hires  
• Technician Scheduling  
• Assists in staffing and coverage where needed  
• Assists in basic protocol and standard procedure training  
• Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience  
• Mentoring technicians within the department  
• Working with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service  
• Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.
