MicroStrategy/BI platform Administrator
The MicroStrategy Administrator is a specialized technical leader responsible for the operational excellence, security, and modernization of enterprise business intelligence (BI) platforms. This role focuses on the administration, integration, and optimization of MicroStrategy environments, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based solutions and seamless interoperability with AWS, Power BI, and other modern data technologies. The position is not a developer or analyst role, but rather a hands-on, cross-functional administrator dedicated to ensuring high availability, performance, and security of BI systems.
Key Responsibilities: • Platform Administration & Optimization o Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MicroStrategy environments across on-premises and cloud (AWS) platforms. o Monitor system health, analyze logs, and proactively resolve issues to ensure optimal performance and availability. o Benchmark systems, identify and address bottlenecks in hybrid environments, and implement best practices for scalability and reliability. o Automate routine administrative tasks using shell scripting, Python, Ansible, or Terraform. • Cloud & Integration o Manage and support MicroStrategy deployments in AWS (including Customer Managed Cloud, EKS, Redshift, Aurora Postgres, and QuickSight). o Oversee integration with Power BI, supporting report delivery and cross-platform data flows. o Collaborate with Platform, Database engineers, and infrastructure teams to provision, secure, and optimize new database technologies. • Security & Compliance o Implement and manage robust security models, including LDAP/Active Directory integration, user role creation, and project-level access controls. o Ensure compliance with enterprise security guidelines and participate in audits as required. • Incident Response & Support o Respond to high-priority production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution across teams. o Provide deployment, upgrade, and troubleshooting support for multiple enterprise projects, maintaining required service levels. • Collaboration & Communication o Work effectively in fast-paced, multi-tasking enterprise and virtual environments. o Partner with business, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver secure, governed, and high-performing BI solutions. o Document system configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines.

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Education Details: Computer Science or IT related field
Experience: 5 years' Experience perform full data management duties, including migration and continuous integration/delivery.
In Lieu of Education In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server and similar databases, Expert bility to communicate effectively with analysts, developers, tests, and project managers in both oral and written form., Advanced bility to work minimal supervision., Advanced High-level of analytical and troubleshooting skills., Expert Proficient in Microsoft Office applications., Advanced Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SL), Advanced The incumbent is required to immediately disclose any debarment, exclusion, or other event that makes them ineligible to perform work directly or indirectly on Federal health care programs. Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time. Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
Required Qualifications • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and supporting MicroStrategy environments. • 5+ years of experience with Power BI, including report setup and workspace management. • Strong experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., QuickSight, EKS, Redshift), and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform). • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL. • Deep understanding of MicroStrategy architecture, security, and administration tools (Developer, Object Manager, Command Manager, Workstation). • Experience with MicroStrategy Customer Managed Cloud and AWS QuickSight is highly desirable. • Excellent communication, debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting skills. • MicroStrategy and AWS certifications are a plus.
