Help shape the future of student healthcare as part of our brand new School Based Health Center. This unique Clinical Navigator role blends front office support, care coordination, and clinical support to help students access the care they need. Flexible Opportunity: We recognize that great candidates come from a variety of backgrounds and availability needs. This position may be structured as full-time or part-time, depending on the qualifications and availability of the selected candidate. Job Summary: Performs various administrative, clinical, and care navigation activities under the direction of the School Based Health Center leadership and clinic provider(s). Duties include (but are not limited to) below:
Front Office (Administrative)
Patient Check-in/out: Greeting patients, verifying demographics, and collecting co-pays. Scheduling: Booking, rescheduling, and confirming appointments. Insurance & Billing: Verifying insurance coverage and processing billing information. Records Management: Answering phones, maintaining Electronic Health Records (EHRs), and managing office correspondence. Ordering: Orders supplies for the SBHC as needed.
Back Office (Clinical)
Patient Preparation: Escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining medical histories, and recording symptoms. Vitals: Taking and logging vital signs (blood pressure, height, weight, temperature, pulse). Assisting Providers: Helping providers with examinations and minor in-office procedures. Lab Work & Testing: Collecting specimens (blood, urine), performing basic lab tests. Documentation: Documenting in the EMR according to TSMH policy and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Clinic Navigation (Administrative / Clinical)
Assist patients as needed to coordinate referrals, follow up. Assists with connection to necessary community resources (example: food pantry, etc.) Communicates with parents, other healthcare professionals, and academic stakeholders.
Tracks and reports information on SBHC operations and activities.
Education and Training:
Certified Medical Assistant, required. License and Certification:
Washington State Medical Assistance license, required. Current American Heart Association's BLS/CPR certification card on hire or within orientation Experience:
Previous administrative and clinical experience preferred. Skills and Abilities:
