Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – Remote (Anywhere)
This permanent, full‑time role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of complex, data‑intensive systems across historian and performance environments. The Engineer will work across the full software lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, validating functionality, accuracy and performance at scale.
Salary: $125,000 – $145,000 per year (W2).
Responsibilities
Own end‑to‑end quality efforts across features and product areas.
Design and execute test strategies for complex, data‑heavy systems.
Validate systems that handle large volumes of data and high‑throughput workloads.
Develop and execute test cases for data accuracy and system performance.
Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and troubleshoot issues.
Partner with engineering teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects.
Contribute to improving test frameworks, tools and overall QA processes.
Participate in design reviews to ensure testability and scalability.
Provide clear, structured feedback during testing cycles.
Experience Requirements
3–5+ years of Quality Assurance or Software Testing experience.
Strong experience testing backend systems or data‑driven applications.
Proficiency with SQL and relational databases, including joins and aggregations.
Hands‑on experience validating large‑scale datasets or high‑volume systems.
Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++.
Ability to test complex application environments and identify edge cases at scale.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
Experience working in an agile, collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred experience with historian or data‑focused QA, performance or system QA, including load, throughput, latency, and stability testing.
Strong preference for experience with high‑throughput or distributed systems, performance testing tools and methodologies, time‑series data concepts, and complex SQL for validation and debugging.
