Oracle DBA Position
AEEC is currently seeking an Oracle DBA to support our prime Federal contract in Alexandria, VA. This position will primarily be responsible for the migration from Oracle 11g to 12c. The selected candidate will: Provide subject matter expertise and have proven experience with upgrading Oracle Databases from 11g to 12c. Provide a detailed design and architectural diagram to upgrade Oracle databases from 11g to 12c. Carefully examine the source databases and look for areas of consolidation, optimization, and maximized performance in 12c as part of the migration strategy. Provide mitigation plans to resolve issues that occur from upgrading Oracle databases from 11g to 12c. Provide detailed rollback and mitigation plans after upgrading databases from 11g to 12c, implementing data propagation, and any other changes to the Oracle iDM system. Team with onsite personnel on design, provide an architectural diagram and configure and implement Data Propagation within and between two sites (VA and PA) using appropriate database replication technologies recommended by Oracle such but not limited to Golden Gate and Data Guard. Required skills include: Oracle Database skills and knowledge of SQL commands. Performing an online backup of the existing databases using RMAN. Redundant backup strategies using Oracle Data Pump as a secondary backup and contingency planning strategy. Exporting data to a dump files via Data Pump. Knowledge and use of multitenant container database (CDB) and pluggable databases (PDB). Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA) or command-line upgrade script to upgrade the databases to Oracle Database 12c. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, handling objects, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and specific vision abilities. Work environment is usually moderate in noise level.
