Overview The Strategic Technology Group (STG) unit at Infosys is designed for power programmers and senior technologists who want to go beyond traditional development roles and take on complex, large‑scale technology challenges. The STG unit brings together Specialist Programmers, Senior Technologists, and Technical Leaders who possess deep expertise across software design and development, cloud‑native architectures, enterprise platforms, data engineering, and emerging technologies, including generative AI and agentic AI. Members of the STG unit play a strategic role in shaping technology direction, solving complex business challenges, and delivering resilient, high‑quality outcomes. They are expected to demonstrate strong technical depth, sound architectural judgment, and hands‑on leadership, while mentoring teams and influencing best practices across programs. The STG unit emphasizes software development excellence, innovation, and continuous upskilling. It offers experienced talent the opportunity to work on transformational initiatives, engage closely with stakeholders, and grow as trusted technology leaders within Infosys’ global delivery ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Analyze user stories and use cases to ensure accurate understanding for production‑ready delivery.
Contribute to defining design specifications and technology frameworks and assist in creating reusable assets to enhance productivity and support complex technology projects.
Deliver high‑quality, optimized and efficient code across applications and databases, engage in debugging complex routines and build automation.
Support the team to foster a robust technical environment and ensure error‑free coding.
Participate in knowledge‑transfer sessions and assist in utilizing reverse engineering methodologies to support the transition process.
Assist in deploying solutions for future projects exploring new technologies through initial prototypes.
Facilitate adoption of emerging technologies through POC initiatives aligned to business needs.
Support in implementation of technical services to meet quality service (QoS) requirements.
Contribute to development of reusable assets with a specific focus on productivity improvement and support resolution of critical production issues.
Interface with customers during warranty support to ensure issues are fixed in a timely manner.
Address technical issues during testing to ensure a reliable, production‑ready codebase.
Assist in mitigating risks by flagging them and support timely resolution in coordination with the team.
Fix issues during testing phases to ensure error‑free, clean releases.
Contribution to the Team A knack of designing and developing scalable, high‑quality and optimized solutions that meet complex business needs. The ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, translating them into practical prototypes and deployment‑ready strategies. The ability to build reusable frameworks, automation scripts, and knowledge assets that enhance team productivity. Strong problem‑solving mindset to debug complex technical issues and deliver error‑free and reliable outcomes. Commitment to quality, performance and risk management, ensuring resilient and efficient project delivery. Proactive collaboration with internal team and client to drive knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and innovation.
Preferred Skill and Experience
Experience in Big data – Python, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka, and Storm.
Experience in databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
Experience in cloud‑based platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, AWS, GCP.
Experience in open source tools and technologies.
OS experience in Linux, Solaris, macOS.
Experience working in a fast‑paced and agile environment.
Providing solutions with minimum system requirements and in Agile mode.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Effective collaboration and communication skills.
Consistent score in coding sites like HackerRank, CodeChef, and other industry‑acclaimed external certifications, if applicable.
Active participation in technology forums and contribution to the open source community.
Additional Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project location.
