Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President/Chief Information Officer, theTechnology Solutions Analyst is a technical generalist who partnerswith academic and administrative departments across the College toanalyze business needs, design technology-enabled solutions, anddeliver measurable outcomes using modern enterprise platforms andtools. The Technology Solutions Analyst combines business analysis,system configuration, integration support, and collaborativeproblem-solving to improve institutional workflows, data quality,operational efficiency, and the overall student and employeeexperience. Working closely with ITS and functional stakeholders,the Technology Solutions Analyst helps translate technologyinvestments into sustainable, user-centered solutions that supportinstitutional goals and continuous improvement initiatives. TheTechnology Solutions Analyst will support solution adoption throughdocumentation, training, and ongoing process evaluation.
Job Duties 25% - Solutions Analysis and Design - Partner withdepartments to understand business objectives, analyze existingworkflows, and identify opportunities for improvement throughprocess change, automation, or integration. Translate functionalrequirements into practical technical solutions, balancing speed,maintainability, and institutional fit. Document current-state andfuture-state workflows, data flows, and integration points. Supportand enhance Identity and Access Management tools and processes toimprove security, provisioning, and user access workflows. -(Essential) 25% - Integration and Automation Development - Design,build, and maintain integrations between enterprise systems usingOccidental's TeamDynamix iPaaS platform. Develop SQL queries, lightscripts (Python, PowerShell, or similar), and API-based automationsto support reporting, data movement, and workflow needs. ConfigureSaaS applications and low-code tools to meet functionalrequirements without unnecessary custom development. -(Essential) 20% - Enterprise Systems Support - Contribute to ongoingwork across Occidental's enterprise systems, including EllucianBanner, Canvas, Google Workspace, and related platforms. Supportmodernization initiatives such as ERP/HCM evaluation, integrationarchitecture, and data governance implementation. Collaborate withITS colleagues, vendor partners, and manage service providers totroubleshoot issues and deliver projects. - (Essential) 15% - AI-Enabled Productivity and Enablement - UseOccidental's enterprise AI tools (Google Gemini for Education andMicrosoft Copilot) to accelerate analysis, documentation,prototyping, and routine work. Help campus colleagues understandwhere AI tools add value and where they don't, consistent withOccidental's data classification and AI usage policies. Staycurrent on emerging AI and automation capabilities relevant tohigher education administration. - (Essential) 15% - Project Delivery and Adoption - Manage projecttimelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication for assignedinitiatives. Develop user documentation, training materials, andknowledge-based content that support real adoption — not justrollout. Conduct user acceptance testing, gather feedback, anditerate solutions after deployment. - (Essential) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science,business, or a related field relevant to the position duties, or anequivalent combination of education and professionalexperience. Five years of experience in a hybrid technical/analytical rolesuch as solutions analyst, business systems analyst, technicalproject lead, or similar. Knowledge of SQL and at least one scripting language such asPython, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar technologies. Skilled in working with enterprise systems such as EllucianBanner, Workday, Salesforce, Slate, Canvas, or comparableplatforms. Knowledge of modern integration, authentication, and data exchangeconcepts, including APIs, webhooks, OAuth/SAML, and JSON/XML. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical andnon-technical audiences and translate complex concepts into clear,understandable information. Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and platforms quicklyand independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel,PowerPoint), Google drives/folders/forms, Adobe Acrobat, WebEditing, and social media applications or any combination ofproductivity programs applicable to position responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough;skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems andhandling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education or another mission-drivenenvironment. Hands-on experience with an integration platform(TeamDynamix iPaaS, Boomi, MuleSoft, SnapLogic, or similar). Experience using enterprise AI tools (Copilot, Gemini, orcomparable) in a professional setting. Understanding of data governance, FERPA, or higher-educationcompliance frameworks. Experience supporting ERP, HCM, or CRM modernizationinitiatives. EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $73,900/yr-$105,500/yr
If you are offered this position at Occidental College, your finalbase salary compensation will be determined based on factors suchas skills, education, experience, and/or geographic location. Inaddition to those factors, Occidental complies with applicable payequity laws and considers internal equity among current employeeswhen developing the final offer. Please keep in mind that the rangementioned above is the base salary range for the role. Hiring atthe maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow forfuture and continued salary growth. We also offer a generouscompensation and benefits package.
