UNCOMN is seeking a Data Engineer 4 (Senior, ETL) to:
Design and support data ingestion, ETL/ELT, validation, and migration workflows needed for modernization initiatives.
Build and maintain data pipelines that improve consistency, quality, and traceability across environments.
Work with application and reporting teams to translate source data into usable structures for downstream processes.
Support schema changes, data quality controls, reconciliation activities, and migration readiness planning.
Help document data movement, transformation logic, and operational dependencies for supported solutions.
Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to resolve data issues and improve data reliability.
This position description outlines the core duties for this role, but it is not all-inclusive. Responsibilities may shift based on contract requirements, mission needs, or organizational objectives.
Requirements
8+ years of related experience.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, CMIS, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or 4 additional years of related experience.
Experience building or supporting ETL/ELT, data integration, or migration workflows.
Working knowledge of data validation, transformation logic, and structured data handling.
Experience collaborating with application, reporting, or integration teams on end-to-end data needs.
Ability to troubleshoot data quality issues and support durable fixes.
Strong communication skills and comfort working across technical and business stakeholders.
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance or similar, granted by the U.S. Government, which requires U.S. citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility.
Must be willing to obtain relevant certifications as required by future client or contract needs.
Preferred
Experience with cloud-based data services and database migration activities.
Experience supporting reporting or analytics use cases in addition to core data movement.
Exposure to financial, federal, or other highly regulated data environments.
Candidates local to the St. Louis Metro East market/within commuting distance preferred, although not required.
