About The Team
We are a multi‑faceted software development and systems administration team building and maintaining software applications backed by a self‑managed cloud infrastructure with a true big‑data footprint (over 20 petabytes).
Our diverse background in mission support and software development serves as a catalyst to solve unique and challenging intelligence problems in support of special operations analysts.
Prototyping and frequent, iterative feedback are core to our delivery approach, anchored by a need to work quickly in support of our missions.
What You’ll Be Doing
Perform and develop dataset evaluations and assessments to inform government decision making.
Shape data engineering approaches for analytic tradecraft improvements within our applications.
Identify and document gaps within our data corpus and analytical capabilities.
Work hand‑in‑hand with software developers to field requirements and provide feedback as changes are implemented into an application.
Work with end‑users to provide SME support for various data or application questions and requests.
Minimum Requirements
Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a CI polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist or similar.
Experience formulating a repeatable process for data evaluations and communicating findings to government officials.
In‑depth knowledge of technical data types, including Technical Telemetry Data and telecommunication protocol data such as cellular and Wi‑Fi.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑starter with excellent time‑management skills and the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent tasks.
Experience working in fast‑paced environments.
Experience working with Software Engineers to provide feedback and validate the technical implementation for custom applications.
Experience with a scripting language such as Python, SQL, Spark, or PySpark.
Must be able to work on‑site in Herndon, VA, with the ability to work in Springfield, VA as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to translate technical conclusions and present them to a broader audience.
Experience conducting geospatial analysis, including Activity‑Based Intelligence or Pattern of Life analysis.
Experience applying, improving, and documenting innovative analytic methodologies.
Experience with Elasticsearch/Kibana.
Experience in a customer‑facing role.
Familiarity with GitLab and the Software Development Lifecycle.
Experience working with Jupyter Notebooks or Apache Zeppelin.
Experience working with other intel analysts and/or special operations customers.
Pay Transparency
Base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is $118,000.00 – $196,000.00 annually.
