Retail Pharmacist – Pharmacy Schedule: 8 hour days, M-F Assignment Details:
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Contract Weeks: 13
Requirements:
Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State. Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college of Pharmacy. Current BLS Certification. Meets all requirements of federal, state, and local laws, guidelines, and regulations governing retail pharmaceutical services. Maintains required continuing education hours annually. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness. Reviews prescriptions to determine necessary formulas and ingredients. Directs pharmacy staff in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Provides information to customers regarding drug interactions, side effects, and proper usage of medications, when accepted. Engages with patients and clients in relation to customer service programs and other pharmacy offerings. Maintains quality assurance and security procedures concerning pharmaceuticals. Manages records and data entry related to patient medication and pharmacy operations. Develops and maintains relationships with healthcare professionals to assist customers effectively. Responds to customer needs and inquiries in a professional manner.
