Instill, implement, and monitor EHS programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA and EPA regulations Conduct regular facility inspections and audits Identify potential hazards, recommend corrective actions, and ensure compliance with safety standards Coordinate and conduct safety training for employees on a range of topics, including new-hire orientation, emergency response, and hazard communication Lead and/or assist investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures Track safety performance metrics, maintain accurate records of inspections and incidents, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies Work with department leaders and a safety committee to promote a culture of safety awareness and environmental stewardship throughout the organization Stay up to date with emerging EHS trends and regulations to drive continuous improvement in safety practices Education/Experience Requirements: Education in Safety Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience OSHA 30-hour, 510, or 500 certification CHST or ASP certifications are highly desirable First Aid/CPR certified 2-3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment Mechanical systems experience preferred Detailed knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and best practices Proficiency of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, SmartSheets, and other phone and computer applications Valid driver's license and clean driving record required Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a hot and/or cold climate and transition frequently between an office environment and a construction field setting outdoors Must be comfortable working on your feet in the field continually and for long hours Must be able to climb stairs and ladders daily Must be able to lift materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds Ideal candidate: Passionate about safety Committed to providing a healthy and secure workplace Excellent verbal and written communication skills Acute attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities Ability to work in a team environment Ability to apply knowledge of regulations to the field construction environment Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations as they apply to job site safety Other details: Schedule is 60-60-50, 6am-4:30pm Monday-Saturday Pay rate is $42-50/hr. DOE and is non-exempt (overtime eligible)
