Job Summary: Provide essential support to nursing practice and patient care through a blend of direct care, communication, and clerical duties.
Essential Responsibilities:
Fiscal Responsibility: Efficiently manage supplies and equipment, complete tasks promptly, and adhere to shift schedules and timekeeping systems. Demonstrate productivity and flexibility by accepting extended day off (EDO) and float assignments. Support unit goals by completing work orders and minimizing waste.
Quality: Participate in unit-specific documentation and stay current with policy updates. Exhibit problem-solving skills and multitask within your scope. Offer suggestions to enhance unit workflow and patient experience. Accept delegated tasks appropriately and engage in teamwork.
Patient Satisfaction: Promote patient satisfaction through positive interactions, timely responses, and professional conduct. Maintain a quiet and respectful environment, practice purposeful rounding, and exemplify excellent guest relations with patients, families, and visitors.
Patient Safety: Ensure safe patient mobilization and fall prevention. Use two patient identifiers for all tasks and point-of-care testing. Report unusual occurrences using the event management system. Adapt care routines to meet individual patient needs and adhere to HIPAA and social media policies.
Professional Growth: Share knowledge and skills with colleagues, participate in orientation and cross-training, demonstrate leadership, and serve as a resource or preceptor. Identify professional development needs and collaborate with management for learning opportunities. Contribute to departmental goals and attend practice change in-services.
Customer Service: Engage patients and families with professionalism and flexibility. Practice AIDET communication techniques and foster a collaborative team environment. Provide holistic care to diverse patient populations. Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic BLS certification required within three months of hire. Work Shift: 6:00am - 6:30pm, scheduled 36 hours weekly. This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
