Posting Details Position Information Campus - Weatherford Campus Full-time/ Part-time - Part-time Job Type - Part-time Faculty Title - Continuing Education (CE) Adjunct Pay Rate - $30 per hour [minimum] Dependent upon Qualifications Position Summary Information Job Description Summary - Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis. Should review of your qualifications result in a decision to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted. Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned. Teaching modalities may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures. Required Education Minimum LVN with at least 5 years work experience in field of study including at least one year working in a skilled nursing facility. Must be a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) or an RN in the state of Texas. Have a minimum of two years of nursing experience. Have completed a course focused on teaching adult students or have experience in teaching adult students or supervising nurse aides. At least one year experience providing long term care services in a nursing facility. All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application. Required Experience LVN or RN with a minimum of one year experience providing long term care services in a nursing facility; have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides. Copies of certificates/license must be submitted with application. Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in nursing Preferred Experience Five plus years overall nursing experience; Experience teaching adults or supervising nurse aides Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach courses in the assigned discipline. Maintain familiarity with and adhere to college policies and procedures. Maintain good rapport with students. Flexibility in schedule to teach day/evening/weekend classes. Ensure students are prepared for Prometrics certification exam. Provide hands-on training in clinical lab skills covering each of the required Prometrics skills. Administer and grade student assignments and exams. Complete required NATCEP documentation. Provide necessary reporting to the college. Carefully monitor and provide immediate feedback to students during clinicals. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups; ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and, ability to observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
