Your Impact As a Senior Developer, you will help shape the technical foundation of Docbyte Vault. You’ll work closely with our CTO to design and build:
high-performance backend services
secure and scalable APIs
data structures for long-term preservation
workflows for timestamping, integrity checks and retention
features used by Europe’s most regulated industries
This is a role with real autonomy, architectural influence, and end-to-end ownership.
What You’ll Do
Develop backend or fullstack features for Docbyte Vault
Contribute to architecture alongside the CTO
Improve performance, security and reliability
Write clean, testable, maintainable code
Mentor other developers and raise engineering standards
Work with the Product Owner to translate requirements into clear technical deliverables
Collaborate with QA and DevOps to strengthen the CI/CD pipeline
Research new technologies that can improve our product offering
Who You Are
5+ years experience as a backend or fullstack developer
Strong in Java
Experience with REST APIs, databases (MongoDB preferred), CI/CD, Docker
You enjoy diving into complex systems and designing elegant solutions
You can think long-term while remaining pragmatic
You communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with product and engineering
You are fluent in English (Dutch is a strong plus)
Nice-to-have:
Experience with cryptography, integrity, or digital preservation
Experience in regulated environments (finance, healthcare, pharma, insurance)
Familiarity with distributed systems or event-driven architectures
